We are looking for a Technician in Fashion Design to join our vibrant technical services team. In this role, you’ll provide expert demonstration and support in pattern cutting and garment construction, delivering workshops, demonstrations, and one-to-one support that equips students with the technical skills and confidence to bring their creative ideas to life. Please note: This is a fixed term contract until 31^st July 2027.

You will:

• Support pattern cutting and garment production techniques across a range of levels.
• Develop engaging learning materials, including handouts, sample work, and digital resources.
• Support safe and effective use of our specialist fashion studios, equipment, and processes.
• Work closely with academic teams to align technical demonstrations with course curriculum.
• Contribute to student exhibitions, shows, and cross-disciplinary practice.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Extensive knowledge and practical expertise in pattern cutting and garment production.
• Experience teaching or supporting students in technical fashion skills.
• A collaborative approach, with excellent communication and organisational skills.

Exciting Opportunity: Technical Tutor in Hair Design on a fixed term contract until 31^st July 2027.

 Join our dynamic team at the University for the Creative Arts and embark on an exhilarating journey as a Technical Tutor! We are seeking a talented individual with expertise in hair styling to guide our students in mastering the art of hair design.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for the Make-up and Hair Design course, with a focus on hair styling techniques.
• Facilitate optimal utilisation of technical facilities for hair design.
• Support students on the Make-up and Hair design course, with collaborative opportunities with other courses including Fashion Image and Styling, and Fashion Photography.
• Actively encourage and assist students to work across hair and make-up design processes.
