            <p id="isPasted">This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Technical Team at our Farnham Campus. We are looking to appoint a Technical Tutor in Glass to support our craft provision.&nbsp;</p><p>This position is to provide technical support and tuition in the range of hot and cold glass workshops with responsibility for the care and day-to-day operation of all glass workshops and facilities. &nbsp; This includes the supervision, management and maintenance of specialist equipment and ensuring that the safety of learners is maintained at all times. &nbsp;</p><p>The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of technical inductions and demonstrations into the materials, equipment and processes in support of the academic aims of the courses and facilitating an interdisciplinary approach to working. &nbsp;</p><p>The successful applicant will have experience in hot and cold glass working processes with competence in glass blowing, surface treatment, glass cutting, machining, finishing and engraving. &nbsp; Experience in the management and operation of electric and gas kilns, furnaces and process control equipment is essential.&nbsp;</p><p>You will contribute to the care and maintenance of equipment and be responsible for health and safety within your area of competence. This dynamic role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and an aptitude for dealing tactfully with students and staff. You should be able to work well under pressure and demonstrate a positive, flexible, and proactive approach, applying initiative and problem-solving skills when supporting both students and colleagues.</p><p>If this sounds like you, please do apply.</p><p>The University has a dedicated Learning &amp; Organisational Development team who work with staff and managers to capitalise on training opportunities.
