We are looking to appoint a Technical Tutor - Production to join our Fashion Atelier team at Epsom.
You will collaborate with the academic team to collectively generate new course materials and develop learning activities specific to this unique course. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the BA Fashion Atelier course at Epsom, to give our students a deep understanding of the overall process of the ‘atelier’ and its professional requirements, where technical expertise is match by creativity and innovation.
The Atelier studios are a dynamic environment, and the purpose of this position is to support students in their development within this specialism. Providing technical workshops, inductions and demonstrations on equipment and processes, you will support students to understand, develop and push the creative possibilities of 3D development and realisation associated with high-end garment construction and finishing.
You will have knowledge and experience of tailoring/bespoke tailoring, pattern cutting, materials, equipment and procedures.
You will contribute to the care and day-to-day operation of the Fashion Atelier studios including the management and maintenance of specialist equipment and ensuring that the safety of our learners is always maintained.
The post holder will have a competent knowledge and understanding of the H&S hazards associated with Fashion equipment and processes and the maintenance of specialist resources.
You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to problem solve and apply initiative. Whilst working under pressure, you will be able to demonstrate a positive and flexible approach when working with students and staff. The ability to work as part of a team is essential.
