Lecturer in Acting

We are looking for a Lecturer with a specialism in teaching voice and/or movement to join our BA (Hons) Acting course at University for the Creative Arts (UCA) in Farnham, Surrey on a full-time, permanent contract.

We are interested in meeting with candidates who can build upon and help expand our current teaching provision in a practice-led environment. We are seeking a talented individual from within the field of acting and performance, who is passionate about their specialist area, questioning and inventive in their approach to teaching, and who would also enjoy working collaboratively to contribute to broader team-taught units. We are specifically looking for an individual who has the practical skills, knowledge, and experience to work with our students and develop their ability in voice and/or movement. This role may also include leading a year group as a Personal Academic Tutor and other leadership responsibilities, postgraduate teaching may also be required.

It is expected that you will have experience of teaching at university level, or commensurate experience, as well as industry experience in a related discipline. We are looking for an innovative and inclusive approach to the teaching of acting and performance, and you should be able to demonstrate an awareness of contemporary critical and global issues in the field. You must evidence a commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and widening participation in teaching, research, and university life.
